I remember someone made a joke about how there were pandemics in 1920, 1820 and 1720, and another user commented that there is a weird flu in some Chinese city. This was either in the last week of 2019 or very early 2020.
It sounds more like you have a problem with C++ and some of it's features, like function overloading and its move semantics, which I agree can be confusing and they always turned me away from C++, I just prefered C because it's straightforward. But then I tried Rust and I saw that it's not the abstractions that are confusing, it's C++.
