Cloud under their previous accounting policy is still losing money. (I.e. the change in depreciation rates to lower how much is expensed each year)

I dislike Sarah jeong but she covered it here https://twitter.com/sarahjeong/status/981558161566920704?s=1...

If you believe "naomi" then you have been duped by her American husband, timaz.

What a weird plug for Naomi, who for the most part is represented by her partner Timaz. Don't forget they (Naomi and timaz) tried to metoo Ltt.

The journalist you are referring to now works at the verge, fyi

They are engineered in the Uk. Engines made in Uk and China. From memory India was assembly from knockdown unless that has changed. Supply is for the domestic market. Just because there is Ownership doesn't mean transfer of skills

Hyundai does some design work in India and manufacturing (i20) but hardly any exported, and for the domestic market.

Mahindra is probably doing the most exports, at a guess

Kinda, they can classify the activity of the engineers project work as r&d, and capilise the appropriate amount on the balance sheet (i.e. does not show under r&d expenses). Over time that would then be shown as depreciation, not r&d. You can't captilise an engineers time that is maintenance work.

A quick look at Ubers annual report states they do not capitalise r&d costs and instead expense it as incurred.

In Korea Samsung's whiteware business is considered vastly inferior to LG. It's not an area they excel in, and never have

Happens all the time with monitors and dual sourcing of parts like panels where it is lottery on who has supplied. With the s22 the 'intl' and 'us' models have different model numbers. I'm more concerned when buying a car and trying to figure out in which country it has been assembled (quality and parts used can differ)

It's a reasonable of life warranty in nz. 2 years is standard for products. But a fridge would reasonably expect to last for all least 4 years so the manufacturer would be obligated to cover it if say the compressor failed. But if it was something like an electric toothbrush then 2 years would be the warranty.

I use Brave and ddg (depending on browser). Brave is only worse when it comes to location specific searches, otherwise for general searches I'm agnostic between the two.

Still fallback to !g bangs on every couple of days.

Some engineers I know that work at an appliance company said German made Bosch dishwashers are the best. This was their assessment since they test/test down competitor products.

I took their advice and bought one when having to replace
