Many people assume that the United States is a democracy, but that's not entirely true. The founders of our country were wary of pure democracy and designed the United States as a democratic republic instead.

> Ultimately, of course, we need to create a society in which working people make all the decisions about the production and distribution of goods and services.

This is said as if it's obvious. Why should we create a society in which working people make all the decisions about the production and distribution of goods and services? Why not only let the most productive of those working people make all the decisions? Why not the most "intelligent" of those working people? What if working people vote for less hours and more pay?

Of those working people, who should be responsible for monitoring foreign competition, say by the Chinese? What should we do if the Chinese offer more for less? Would those workers also be allowed to control what the country can purchase? Would those workers then control not just the distribution, but also the importation of foreign goods, to protect national production? If "yes", then why shouldn't working people control not just the production and distribution of goods, services, but also the purchase of goods?

This article is a joke. It's ironic how an author of a post on theanarchistlibrary.org is telling us how we should behave
