As a Front-end engineer at Atom, you will be working with a group of highly motivated software developers who thrive on solving challenging problems with innovative solutions. We build large-scale distributed software systems in Scala, Java, Python and other languages. You will work with virtually all of the functional organizations across Atom - including Product, Marketing and Operations. We're a new team with many challenging problems waiting to be solved. Here's what you'll do
Responsible for design, code, configuration, QA and implementation of high quality software solutions that are delivered on time
Produce bullet-proof code that is robust, efficient and maintainable
Continually challenge what exists and explore what should be changed to best meet evolving business and market needs
Drive and work on algorithm and architecture design, execute and deliver results
Design, build, and continually improve our services
You should have
Expert proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and other modern web tools
Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design and data structures
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
A willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary
BS ideally in a Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
5+ years of work experience building software across the entire development cycle
We'd like you to have
Experience on the backend with Java/Scala
Experience using the Play framework
Familiarity with cloud and web services technologies that are backed by AWS services
Demonstrated ability to thrive in startup environment
Passion for technology, learning and movies
Previous experience working on systems of large scale

Requirements
A Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
3+ years of experience in Software development. Preferably in back end engineering maintaining high traffic services
Strong Computer Science fundamentals and software development best practices
Strong Experience with AWS related technologies
Strong proficiency in at least two programming languages like Java, Scala, Python, Go or NodeJS
Experience in building horizontally scalable, available and secure RESTful services in a Microservices environment
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and ambiguous environment where continuous innovation is the norm
A willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary, despite challenges and obstacles
Played part in delivering big-data or high-volume production systems
This role does not include any sponsorship and that authorization to work in the US is a pre-condition to employment
Nice to have
Experience working with Play Framework and Scala
