If it is not universal basic income, it is simply welfare. Every month a new basic income study where they just repeat the requirements, effects, and conclusions from welfare. Never actual universal basic income. Everyone but the recipients hate welfare, hate paying for the laziness of others. It has to be given to all to have any chance actually working out.
I always wobdered how does protonmail filter spam and detect abuse like multiple sign-up emails being delivered? It seems incompatible with everything being encrypted, and it is not being done locally in the browser.
I posted a project a few months ago to a niche hobby subreddit and was dismissively criticized as using an AI and being unable to write my own paragraphs. Once that comment got more likes it just snowballed into insults, hate, and threats.
I was never big about reddit anyway but now I will definitely never interact with that site again.
I have never used these in any software, ever, instead they are just clutter that I periodically click on accidentally. Windows is so bad with stuff like this, it just accumulates.

It is a sad reality when you must be relatively famous online and then proceed to whine on social media to hopefully get in contact with someone who might be able to know someone who possibly can help.
Matrix/element is the best bet atm. Had a solid 40m users compared to Discord's 140m at some point, which is good proof they can scale up compared to other. Hardest part is convincing your groups to switch from Discord. But you can bridge the two in Matrix and talk between them which might help ease the transition.
Teamspeak has been drama-free at least and spared from bigtech bullshit, but simple things like changing your username havent been working for like 6 years now, it is in rough but ok shape if you want a drop-in replacement. You can freely make group chats and categorize them by right clicking them to create Discord-style chatrooms or voice chat rooms. Otherwise you must pay to set up a Teamspeak community for your friends.
Matrix/Element seems the best drop-in replacement for Discord. Can set up chatrooms in Discord "server"-style, or as persistent DMs with others. In the chatrooms, you can make text chat spaces and call spaces. No dedicated voice chat space, you just dont turn on webcam for the call spaces. Pretty sure it uses same voip tech. Selfhostable if you want. Encrypted. Really it is just a barebones but functional Discord. Matrix can be bridged to Discord as well so you can talk between either, should help ease the transition period for anyone jumping ship.
Have done this a few times. Updating the thing and keeping my data is always annoying even with web storage. The limitations of CORS also make it annoying the moment you want to do anything more involved.
In the end I usually just write a normal program for myself in autoit.
Bright text on dark backgrounds is unreadable garbage to me, like a kaleidoscope of strokes and shapes. I think it is because of astygmatism, not sure.
When software doesn't provide a light theme, I can't use it at all. Thankfully websites are easy to fix with browser addons... ffmpeg documentation in particular looks so bad by default in my opinion.
You should always give the user a choice because it's usually very trivial to make a theme and saves everone trouble down the line. Finding the option to switch can still be a pain sometimes which is silly.
