I thought people were paying for Mullvad for a service. "Oh, my money is going to fund a political party I disagree with". You pay for a service, and thinking you now have a say on how the service provider decides to use the money they've received is such hubris. "But instead of using the money I gave the company to buy healthy food for his kids, he chose to buy processed food. I'm out." It's sad, almost immature.

"In every case, I have carried out my duties without political fear or favor, focused solely on our mandate of price stability and maximum employment."

I take any claims of absolute neutrality with a huge grain of salt. Besides, he's an unelected bureaucrat. He can only pretend to represent the interests of the people.

I'm glad that at times like these, I switched to Brave browser on all of my platforms (desktop and mobile). I can't recommend it enough.

Having that on a e-bike would be wild.

Should we ever consider broad societal harm, or just focus on individual harm? It's to me just short sighted to only consider the later.

I'm not sure that can be applied consistently. Would you say the same about heads of drug cartels or human trafficking rings (not equating these to Kim, as I'm sure you understand)?

Yep, angry unicorn. If the copilot debacle wasn't reason enough to make people migrate or diversify the code repo efforts with, let's say, GitLab, this should.

It will be interesting to see if they release the tallies by region, on how those number will match with the overall result.

Oh, look, the moment decisions don't go the way I agree with, we throw democracy and institutions out of the window. Who's a "threat to democracy" now?

Good on you!

A nice personification of the common man from G.K. Chesterton, like uncountable others we will never hear about outside our own real life circles.

I think we have to make a discernment between operating and manufacturing when referring to knowing "how it works". The pilot needs to understand how a plane will behave on the fundamental level when given a set of instructions. A develop should have that understanding as well (and that's coming from a person who's been through CS, but have lost a lot of that understanding).

Nobel prize recognising effort and intent, not outcome. Didn't stop infection. Didn't stop transmission. Adverse effects overlooked and long term ones unknown.

Well, haven't you noticed how the DIE cult is already all over entertainment? Sports teams kneeling down because of "oppression" and pop culture being absolutely dominated by sex and violence propaganda? Specially those being produced targeting the "minorities".

It's a brave new world.

In the name of progressivism, epistemology in humanities has been dismantled, and business schools soon after were captured by the DIE (diversity, inclusion, equity) religion.

Finally the demented Paulo Freire idolaters are coming for stem fields. Let's see if the push back is too little, too late, or if there's hope. Otherwise, do tutoring or homeschool your children.

Edit: and of course, the result of those last 2 proposed actions will be that the gap between social economically well off kids with good structured families and those in difficulty will soar sky high. And progressives will use that increased gap to double down on asinine policies.

Using Brave Browser and never looked back. I use MSEdge for work stuff (client testing as it's their default). It was vanilla, but recently I had to install uBlock (minimum).

It was too unbearable to do a simple search for some technical info and end up on a website that would LITERALLY slow the OS as a whole due to spike on Edge's CPU and memory usage.
