Just writing that I appreciate the post. Definitely agree with the ick feeling toward videoing interactions, and with how an overwhelming situation can feel bad for a while afterward even if your actions did help.
Back in college I was such an easy panhandling target that eventually my parents helped me assemble canned meals and toiletry kits to keep in my trunk. Rarely did anyone accept one, maybe one out of ten people once I stopped handing out money. Did that mean the other 9 people were faking their situation? I know a couple of them were, which is what prompted me to change to the kits, but the others likely needed more help than a broke college student could give.
My current understanding: Collabora devs say their removal was capricious. And now TDF is saying it was preventative /just in case/ continued membership led to selfish decision making.
It's all so vague currently. I hate seeing these kind of scuffles that can hamstring good projects.
A few months ago he popped up in my Instagram feed. It looks like Trevor has been seeing a lot of success on that platform rebranding himself as a jilted genius who's on the comeback. Seeing his posts about how he'd been wronged by the system and comment sections full of people who are taking it at face value really highlights the shortcomings of social media to me.
