This is a fair point. For folks who want a “just works” Unix system, disabling SIP probably makes sense. But most it’s still very niche.

Is there a way to make a separate partition of MacOS and have one copy with SIP and one without?

Getting really tired of this conclusion. I love my touch screens. Please don’t take them away!

It does feel like society is swinging towards the latter. I think there’s a non-negligible slice of the population that look down on women’s desire/choice to stay In the home and make child rearing their job.

A corollary to this take is that I don’t think folks appreciate how much Apple and Amazon have moved expectations. We’ve definitely adapted to this new normal that is insanely consumer friendly. But as soon as we get a taste of the way things used to be, it’s eye opening how far we’ve come.

I think Google might be more of the same, but I just don’t have enough experience with the company.

I’ve heard horror stories from Microsoft when it comes to hardware.

Like that Windows XP key I have burnt in my memory, “WRT54G” is etched there forever.

You typing on an iPhone? Ever use Google to find your alternative suppliers?

Every big company is playing the tax game. It would be irresponsible of them not to.

If amazon, a master of logistics, is struggling, imagine some of these other e-tailers and online shops.

Got an email from a company i do work with, and they’re calling for 21 day delays for shipping items, and suspending new orders. Just because they literally cannot package and ship fast enough.

And the hospitals that will bill for treatment of coronavirus? Profiting off a global health crisis?

Providing basic necessities (I just bought some flour on Amazon and gladly paid for it) is not profiting off a crisis.

You let them fail and wipe out the shareholders. Let the shareholders cover debts. Forgive the rest of the debt. Wipe out the management team as well.

Airline comes out nimble and debt free. Average Joe still has airline competition. Shareholders get wiped out, but that’s the risk you run for yield.
