I was an avid user of Riot back in the days and loved the small library. I will take a look at this when I have the time :)

You make good money and you have people that depend upon and love you. If you suffer from depression (get that diagnosed) know that it will darken everything in your life, even that which brought you joy or made you proud will be turned against you, by way of guilt or contempt of yourself.

I speak from personal experience (I suffer from clinical depression) that with the right help (maybe medication but I am personally better off without it) you can move forward and have many moments in an incredible life.

"it’s vitally important that you be able to say the N-word" From my personal experience the amount of hateful content has subsided greatly after Musk came on board, except for a short lived boom of racism often perpetrated by left leaning individuals that did so to "prove a point" or whatever. X/Twitter has largely become a friendly place and the only hate I see these days are lefty bigots

"or post depictions of **/** maximally intense love (let’s not use terms like **; that’s mean)" (to see the censored words look at the original comment) This is an ongoing problem that has been vastly improved upon after Musk's takeover, if the statements are to be believed anyways. But it remains a fact that a number of people were ignored by old Twitter when they wanted their children's likeness taken off of the platform. But after Musk's takeover there have been no more reports of take-down requests being ignored when it comes to this type of material, in other words, I'd say twitter is a better and safer place now.

I wish the author would control for growth over time, if he did he would see that the very loud 'minority' has quickly become the majority and not only that but- there is a vast difference between small blogs or mom&pops stores homepages and bigger more complex projects.

What amount of streaming apps is built with WordPress, or newspapers, or social media etc. Truth is, it is probably overkill to use React and build an SPA on top of a wordpress site, but, almost absolutely necessary for something more dynamic and complex.

Honestly, this is an exercise in futility. You can't ban something across the board, everywhere, in every nation. AI is just another assistive technology that can be used to replace low effort positions. Like every other technological advancement it will be painful for some but on the whole of it our society will benefit, up to a point...

ChatGPT for example is nothing but a more advanced and opinionated search engine, it is a tool for you to use or discard. ChatGPT is not the threat in any case, Copilot was a much bigger threat but we have all learned to live with it now. It is true that soon some AI can become advanced enough to replace developers, but ask yourself this, why? It isn't because the bots can do our job that much better than us, it is because our fields are stagnating and the bots can be trained, but their models are trained on outdated datasets before they reach public availability.

If you want to keep your job, stay ahead of the game. Use the tools available to you. And stop worrying about all the 'what-ifs'

The issue here is that the OP did not abuse anything, tried to correct the mistake once discovered and was 'still' the one being punished for someone else's shady practice.

The media machine is attacking the truth like it is a foreign object, classifying every dissenting opinion holder as a conspiracy theorist, the new alt right.

Whether Musk is or is not going to implement a fair stance on 'free speech' is still up in the air. He has done several things to level the playing field but also stumbled on the way and will surely stumble more.

Lately (as in over the last few days) a multitude of left leaning accounts have been suspended, most of them due to breaking clear rules on incitement, but others not so clear were lumped in with them. The latest suspension of 'Ye' is also controversial, don't think most people want to see a swastika inside a david's star, but, it doesn't seem he really want to spread any hate, rather the topics is so toxic in society that we all recoil from the slightest mention of the subjects. Do I think 'Ye' is correct? Heck no. But how can we know if we aren't allowed to explore, this is worrisome.

As someone who has helped a few companies change frameworks I can say with confidence that it all boils down to developer adhesion within the product teams more than anything the frameworks have to offer. If a few people don't get over their own personal biases they are likely to drag development time down even unintentionally, and the performance of the application will suffer from more shortcuts being made. A well written Vue2 app can be much more performant than a poorly written Svelte app. That said, here are a few observations I have made.

Vue2/3/Svelte is the easier frameworks for the widest range of developers to use and maintain apps for. This is because of their approach to templating VS that of React for instance, not to mention how they handle styling though Vue2/3 is even a rung above that of Svelte when it comes to CSS.

React is great if you want to convince the money people because they are more likely to have heard about it and how everyone is using it.

Svelte has a lot of odd bugs and associated hacks you have to figure out, such as looping over a list may sometimes not work at all and you need to place it within {# key} hack, this re-renders everything within the block though so it kills performance.

SvelteKit is unusable at this point, the routing system has undergone several major changes for example but there are constantly several breaking changes, DO NOT USE.

Vue3 typescript support is near perfect, I have had more problems getting full typescript support in Svelte and React.

As a left leaning person myself I have to say 'our side' is feeling the consequence of karma right now.

Sam Harris would of course delete his Twitter account, he can't be happy about Elon's #1 priority

All jokes aside, Sam has a terrible case of TDS, so anything Must does that helps Trump, however small, big or justified it is will make Musk an enemy of Harris.

I used to think Sam was a good guy with a level and reasoned head but when he said that he couldn't care less if the Bidens have dead children in the basement because Trump might have defrauded people of money, I think Sam lost all credibility.
