FWIW, both Google Calendar and the subscribed calendar on iOS attempt to access webcal:// URIs over SSL on port 443. I'm not sure at what point they would fall back to http; if they do, I haven't seen it.
The S&P 500 is not "the market". It's certainly a better representative of the U.S. market than the Dow Jones Industrial Index (which has just 30 stocks) but it has nowhere near as many stocks as the Wilshire 5000. Not to mention none of those give you any international exposure.

I can usually understand the IPA transcriptions of English words (and sometimes a romance languages), but if the transcription includes non-English phonemes, I go to the respelling.
