Looking forward to some writing assignments. Like in school. Sometimes I miss that in my day to day job. Using just human intelligence. Or maybe "dog intelligence" ;-)

Iroh or n0 seems to solve that. It's they're underlying network protocol. When you're behind some cgnat, iroh falls back to public iroh relays hosted by n0: https://docs.iroh.computer/concepts/relays#public-relays

However you could self host one of these on a public server you own. Then you're independent.

Great work. I'm currently using tailscale and would love to have another option! Hosting my own iroh-relay makes it truely independent then. Only missing the mobile app now! Keep up the good work!

Lovely video and ingenious implementation. Kudos!

As someone managing various servers, both at home and at work, I see how this can be really useful. I see it not in the production space yet but rather in the experimenting, using a Linux machine as a second compute device!

So regarding your last point, I'm convinced. I think it is useful! The one fact that is bugging me is that now it requires a client specific app, with GUI, on my PC and I wonder if using ssh port forwarding could reduce the surface. I mean I wonder if either having a rich client that executes commands via ssh or a rich server (including Web Server) with ssh port wouldn't suffice, so that I can avoid installing stuff on the server AND on my computer.

Thank you for sharing. Nice landing page and very cool demo.

I was wondering what your reason is of developing it instead of just use nextcloud for your company or for mail, calendar, drive, docs and sheets? I mean at least with nextcloud you'd be up and running and have a battle tested solution.

I totally get the do it yourself approach and it's reason enough. And combining all the apps in one web interface is really solved well. Kudos. But I just wonder what your technical and maybe other reasons were.

Because customers like the cards. Not restaurants. And customer is king. There are few businesses who do not accept it. Some hair dressers, some alternative bars, etc.

Thank you Trump - I guess?! It's great for Europe to wake up and for pointing out we need to decouple from the US and become more tech independent. It's bad enough that the whole world is financing the debt of the USA and every person therein. I hope, that in the long run, our democratic values and freedom will become more and more attractive. Especially when all other players become autocratic regimes. That is, if we realize this freedom is not a given and we are willing to put in the work.

After trying openclaw a bit myself, no wonder. Without the best models, capabilities drop significantly. And I guess he has a lot of automations and stuff, which explains the 19'000 daily spend. I hit my personal spend limit when it cost like 40 USD to get Google auth tokens working. Which is very complicated when you run openclaw on a vps. And it even broke like a week after. Maybe one could justify the 40usd if it would save my time instead. But I was babysitting openclaw doing it anyhow. So I actually double spend. Money plus time.

Btw, same frustration for me setting up signal, Whatsapp or slack...

I follow Mistral AI and especially liked their voice Model voxtral, which is supposed to be better than whisper. So while the LLM can maybe not compete, they do compete in voice. [1]

I think these kind of special use cases matter a lot for people who want to build special software. Voice for example is not yet that uniformly accessible as LLMs. So once you chose one provider you're more tighty coupled. Plus, handling voice is more sensitive by nature, so guess at least for European companies building something with voice, Mistral is the go-to company now.

Also, running voxtral yourself is not that straight forward as of now, so relying on their inference makes sense.

Well, no ads, just saying. I am using this myself.

I use excalidraw a lot and it's hard to manage different drawings. So the fact that each drawing is one note is great.

Further, publishing the drawing on a hosted instance gives you a permalink to it, so you would actually never need to export a drawing and would have a live reference.

I think this integration is really useful.

And yes, I did not find my old account, so I created a new one :-)
