> Or if major third party apps that you want to use (say Facebook or YouTube or whatever) are all moving into their vendor's app stores.
The major third party apps are still on Google Play though, why should they act any differently on iOS?
Your point on Chrome is indeed an issue, and I am pessimistic. While Firefox has a browser engine, how many can they spare to port/retrofit it for iOS?
Here's the issue. From my perspective, Google used to be a respectable company, but through automation of customer handling and service they've elected to accept negative consequences and impact for customers - which isn't a very respectable position to take in my book.
Have you thought about trying this with a RPI 4B? Thinking about replacing my 3b+ providing two SMB shares with such a setup, once 4b has matured a little.
The creator of the Rockstar language was apparently inspired by a tweet he saw. So inspiriaton can come from all sorts of places, but cultivating it into something tangibale is a whole other beast.
Checked his Twitter feed, he talked with a few persons about their gear and how to help with pumps, power etc. So the sub wasn't the only thing he did.
And yeah, he probably doesn't have all the domain knowledge needed, but I reckon he had some help. Example; the 6 or so people seen on the video when they tested the tube.
I really can't see why people are bashing him. Yes, he was public about it, but he also created something that seems to work, and if it's a prototype, that prototype can be used for further development. It feels like nothing speeds up R&D like a crisis.
That largely depends on the tasks. Putting down 2km of electrical cable each day is pretty boring, as much of new construction is, but troubleshooting why the ventilation stopped working at a restaurant and fixing it is pretty awesome.
I fully agree. To me, SAS is either an airline company or british special forces, so I have no idea which company this blogpost is about - and I'm not going to start researching to find out which company a blog post about a company is talking about.
However, to be somewhat of a hypocrite, I don't mind abbreviations for broadly known terms, such as SaaS, DevOps or db. I guess it boils down to the context.
The reason I distinguish non-techies from myself is that while I know my way around a command line, can compile stuff, debug to some extent etc, they/she can't. The same goes for my parents, and hers, as well as our siblings, uncles, aunties cousins etc. So while I may be ok using some application that requires some configuration and setup, the rest aren't.
Currently I'm not using anything, so it will be a case of eating my own dogfood(so to say). Whatever I'll recommend is the one I'll be using. As to why I'm not using anything - eh, a combination of laziness and faith in my own password rule.
