I love that this cautionary tale about not opening random links from people you don't know, ends with you opening up some random docx that just materialised out of the blue on one of your USB sticks.
I've done multiple txs in the last few weeks - all with "normal fees," 2 took 3 days to get a single confirmation. 1 took ~24 hours, although these were the outliers, several other txs happened in normal time frames.
It's possible the app I use is just bad at calculating fees, but I'm thinking yeah that guy got lucky.
DDG is fine when you need help with a problem a lot of people bump up against frequently, but its helpfulness nosedives when your journey takes you off the beaten track.
I went from a 2015 MBP to a Gigabyte Aero 15x and put Pop!OS on it.
I'm very happy with it - it's a tidy little machine, build quality is good, it has a nice 4K screen, great specs incl a good GPU, all the holes and slots I could ask for, and the battery lasts something like 10hrs (GPU usage destroys this though obviously)
If you can live without Mac OS, there are a number of top notch laptops out there calling your name.
The problem with tracking cash that way is it only works if the shop closes right after Alice leaves.
If another customer comes in and gets Alice's note in their change (which is fairly likely since it's sitting at the top of the stack) then that note becomes entirely disassociated from the original purchase.
