This only works if there are no better treatments or cures. If a competing treatment works better, or might be a better cure, it must be kept out of the market. Sums up the massive web of red tape that we call healthcare.
Is anyone else surprised by the sample size? I'm not sure that eight baseballs provides enough data for any relevant conclusions, especially when the differences are so small to begin with.
Very true, but the same can be said for scientists. While paying lip-service to what it doesn't know, the hubris of modern science is its vice.
We live in an age of relative technological ignorance. Let's keep a proper perspective. In a few centuries, people will look back at what we know today and laugh. (Infinite examples could be given. Only 100 years ago people said man would never fly, etc. )
