Media can either be evil and censor information to potentially save life, or respect freedom of speech which could lead to severe consequences. Which side are you in? There is no correct answer and we just have to admit we are in a bad situation which does not exist an win-win solution.
I have many personal files and wanting make sure they are accessible for rest of my life. Please tell me a platform that can provide this solution and why I can trust it?
Laminar builds decentralized finance protocols for blockchains. We are in a unique position to bridge the users and players in both mainstream finance and the blockchain world, to enable more open, more inclusive, more secure and better finance experience of the future. Laminar has a small but growing team of developers dedicated to building blockchain applications using Substrate and other blockchain technologies.
This is ridiculous. I already understand many seemly critical software are just unsafe / insecure but people actually running this without multiple layers of safety net mechanisms on a high speed machine that can, and did kill people? The backup driver is one broken safety net, and there are no more working security redundancy?
I don’t really care what Libra is on launch. What I really care about is the potential of the technologies behind Libra and what Libra can become.
The most decentralized and trussfree system right now is probably Bitcoin, which I wouldn’t say it is decentralized on day 1. But it is the fundamental of what we have today (which I admit it isn’t that much), and what we can achieve tomorrow. It is the potential excites me.
People doesn’t need to trust FB, or any other companies relates to FB. But you can audit the open sourced code and evaluate how much do you want to trust the code. This is simply not possible with traditional technologies. So I will say it is a net improvement. As long as it is not a regression, I want to see it happen.
I want to point it out it is not only Chinese government, but also Chinese people, the people were enjoying the NBA, are abandoning it. This actually hurts the feeling of the fans.
> They have nothing to lose but incremental profits and in the long run China will lose.
I don’t understand this. They could lost all their market in China which is not a small number and in return, long-term financially, nothing. It is not like Chinese people can’t live without it. There are more than enough entertainments for Chinese people to enjoy.
What I don’t understand is, the whole point of using blockchain technology is it doesn’t matter who creates it, as long as the code does what it intend to do, there are no trust needed. (Assuming Libra eventually actually become a decentralized network)
