My problem with Facebook is that they didn't diversify their products much (except for Oculus). Once FB is not fashionable anymore and users are using another platform (see WhatsApp and why FB bought them) it will be the end of FB. Can they reinvent themselve? not sure, but they surely need to invest more in R&D and diversify their products like Google, instead of putting everything on IM/Social.

For me the best advantage is not learning just the language, but the whole culture. If you can't laugh to comedy standup stars and understand the culture of other people, it really doesn't help much if you are fluent in one language or more. Languages also promote a more liberal worldview and more tolerance for others.
Adding to OP. What pains me in Affiliate Marketing, is that there is never talk about the end customer. The question whether "would you sell this to your grandmother?" is never even considered. All people are talking about is ROI, Campaigns, CTR, AB Testing, Laser targeting ..etc.
Nobody cares if the customer is happy.
Make an audit of your sites or hire someone to do it. Decide what went right and wrong with the whole project. Finally decide whether it have a future. You really need to be firm in your decisions and cut ties with projects that are taking time/ not making money or you don't have interest in them anymore. Go to flippa and sell if needed and concentrate on new projects.
Internet of Things will have somehow the same fate as IPv6. Some will adopt it, manufacturers will push for it, but nobody will care about it. It will be a niche for a few years before the market is ready for it.

Think about the % of people who go vote every four years in a democracy. 30% maybe 50% at max vote, the rest can't be bothered because they are busy with their daily problems. Add to that that most Muslims live in a third world country, so they have enough problems already.
3- The first people affected by terrorism in term of body counts and extremism in general are Muslims themselves. Did you know for example that ISIS consider the previous president of egypt (Mursi) who is from the muslim brotherhood to be an infidel who need to be killed.
4- People in Muslim countries are getting numb to all this news reports because they are used to it. I remember when I was a kid watching Arab TV news showing people dying in Palestine and at one time the TV commentator laughed. She then said she was sorry and she didn't mean to laugh at what was happening. Most Arabs/Muslim who care about what's going on the Middle East have already watched too much death to react to it.
5- Some people do want to go to the street and demonstrate against this blood shed but they are not allowed by their local governments. They fear that this could turn in a revolt. Arab spring says hi.
6- There have been hundreds if not thousands of condemnation an protests by muslims all over the world but the media don't cover them much because they don't fit the narrative of evil muslims.

You can download anything you want wirelessly and play it on your HD TV. No need for Chromecast to load youtube and be a "closed garden" of google.
Did you try to hire any local coders or even interns at your start-up?. There a are a lot of aspiring engineers in morocco who would have benefited from an experience of working for a start-up like yours.
1- Facebook: Will go bust and be bought by a conglomerate (non IT Group or Microsoft). They will be the "Lehmans Brothers" of the next crisis.
2- Dropbox: Likely to go bust. No diversification and a lot of competition.
3- Twitter: Will be hurt but can survive,due to appeal to Marketers/News/..etc.
4- Google: Will likely drop a lot of products and concentrate on search and self driving cars.
5- Apple: Will become the new Microsoft.
