To be working in a flexible and stress free environment, pursuing interesting but not strenuous challenges while having enough time to enjoy the good things in life: friends, family, discovering the world, wasting time without pressuring obligations.
To not have to come back to work ever again.
You and me both.
Either enough money to never work again, or enough money for years off between work bursts.
I don’t mean any disrespect to regular work-retirement lifestyle (huge respect to people who do things instead of making sounds with their mouth (except for singers)), but to me it’s a huge risk. Employers and govt will screw you over without thinking twice, e.g. in case of illness or life changes that make you temporarily less able than they expected.
