Minimal-training six figure jobs never existed. No self-taught dev is making that much in a first role. Once you start to earn the big bucks, you're likely at a point the degree doesn't matter as much. The market has always been saturated – but with mediocre material – and you'll always have to stand out regardless of your background. Yes the market is terrible now (honestly only mostly the US) but this is an industry where actual supply of talent will likely not be enough for a looong time. Just don't come for the money and hype and quit the "I learnt JS so I'm ready mentality". There's no differentiator if that's what you bring to the table.
